Today, the newly appointed Ambassador to Kenya, Mrs. Jutta Frasch, presented her credentials to H.E. the President of the Republic of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta.

During the ceremony which took place at State House in Nairobi Ambassador Jutta Frasch issued the following statement:

"Your Excellency, Kenya and Germany have long standing and very good relations and we are determined to develop them further. Germany will continue to work closely with Kenya to improve security and to counter the serious threats and dangers posed by terrorism we have seen in recent times.

Moreover, your Excellency, I am committed to further strengthening the economic ties between our countries. I firmly believe that private investment and trade are driving forces of economic development, employment and prosperity and I Intend to devote part of my work here in Kenya to furthering ties in these areas over and above our  well-established activities in the field of development cooperation.

Let me assure your Excellency that Germany will remain a committed development partner of the Republic of Kenya. Development cooperation and private investment of German companies should mutually benefit each other."
