The promotion of the German Language in Kenya
In Kenya, there are about 3.600 persons learning German every year mostly at schools are private institutions as the Goethe Institut Nairobi. In addition, the German School and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) both located in Nairobi contribute to the promotion of German as a foreign language.
Promoting the German Language is a key objective of the cultural policy. Around 45 Kenyan Schools do offer German as a foreign language and about 3.200 students take up this offer. In addition, several of our cultural partners do offer German for adults and students at universities. Together 3.600 persons have studied German in 2010.
