FRANCO-GERMAN COOPERATION IN KENYA 2012

The French and the German Embassy as well as Cultural Institutes and Development and Financial Cooperation Agencies of both countries will meet on 20 January 2012 to mark the Franco-German Day and the anniversary of the Elysée Treaty on 22 January 1963.

GERMAN-KENYAN COOPERATION IN THE SECURITY SECTOR: GERMAN FEDERAL CRIMINAL POLICE DONATES CAR TO DPP

In the course of the close cooperation between the German Federal Criminal Police and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), German police will provide their Kenyan partners with a new car. On Friday, 27 January 2012 at 12 o'clock noon, the German Ambassador to Kenya, Mrs. Margit Hellwig-Boette, will officially hand over the keys to a Nissan X-Trail to Mr. Keriako Tobiko, Director of Public Prosecutions, at her residence in Muthaiga.

VISIT OF GERMAN DEVELOPMENT MINISTER TO TURKANA REGION

On Friday 3rd February 2012, the German Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, Mr. Dirk Niebel, will visit the Turkana region. He will be accompanied by the German Ambassador to Kenya, Mrs. Margit Hellwig-Boette, and a delegation from his ministry including the Director General for Africa Affairs, Dr. Friedrich Kitschelt.

GO AFRICA...GO GERMANY

On Sunday, 26th February 2012, high-potential students and graduates from Germany and several African countries (among them Kenya) will start the African part of the scholarship exchange programme “Go Africa...go Germany”.

G8 AFRICA REPRESENTATIVE OF THE GERMAN FEDERAL CHANCELLOR VISITS KENY

From 8th to 13th March 2012, Mr. Günter Nooke, G8 Africa Representative of the German Federal Chancellor Dr. Angela Merkel, will visit Kenya.

PRESIDENT OF GERMAN FEDERAL CRIMINAL POLICE VISITS KENYA AND MEETS WITH COMMISSIONER OF POLICE

From Monday, 19th March 2012 until Wednesday, 21st March 2012, the President of the German Federal Criminal Police, Mr. Jörg Ziercke, will visit Kenya. His visit aims at strengthening the ties between Germany and Kenya with regard to cooperation in the police and security sector.

“GO AFRICA...GO GERMANY” PROGRAMME TO KENYA AND SOUTH SUDAN SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED

After having travelled Kenya and South Sudan for almost three weeks, the participants of the “Go Africa...go Germany” programme successfully completed their tour last week and left Kenya for their different home countries.
